Campfires, bans and prevention tips
Most people do not intend to start fires. The problem is wind, dry fuels, unattended embers, hot exhaust, sparks and bad assumptions.
Before any fire
- Check the official BC fire bans and restrictions page for the current area.
- Use existing fire rings only where permitted.
- Keep water and a shovel at the fire site.
- Never leave a campfire unattended.
- Cold-to-touch means cold — drown, stir and repeat.
