August 19 official wildfire check: highways, evacuation pages and BCWS context to verify before travel
BCFires daily official-source wildfire check for August 19, 2026: DriveBC still shows wildfire, fire and smoke road rows; EmergencyInfoBC still lists evacuation/action pages; and BCWS latest bulletins remain the live context before travel or return-home decisions.
Short verdict
Official sources support a dated daily source card. In this capture, DriveBC/Open511 showed 15 wildfire/fire/smoke road rows, including 12 marked major. EmergencyInfoBC exposed 30 event API rows and 44 visible wildfire/evacuation/action links in the homepage capture. BC Wildfire Service latest-post capture still pointed to the August 17 Mount Rollins and Calamity Creek rescission notices, plus current restriction/prevention context.
This article does not create a new evacuation order, alert, road detour, safe-return clearance, fire boundary or cause determination. It is a source snapshot pointing readers to live agency pages before travel, return-home decisions or social sharing.
BCWS: latest posts are context, not an all-clear
The BC Wildfire Service blog capture did not show a newer bulletin than August 17 at the top of its latest-post feed. That is useful context, but it is not a reason to skip the live BCWS map/dashboard or local authority pages.
