Extinguishers, pumps and water tanks: what to understand first
Preparedness gear can help when used early and safely. It cannot replace evacuation, official instructions or firefighters.
Extinguishers
Keep appropriate extinguishers where they are visible and train household members in PASS: pull, aim, squeeze, sweep. Replace or service expired units.
Water tanks and pumps
Tanks and pumps are most useful when planned as a system: water source, pump capacity, hose length, fittings, power/fuel and safe operating location.
