[0.0-6.0] This is an evolving situation and that's where we're live on YouTube. We want to get as much information out as we can. [6.0-12.0] The bold range wildfire is the one we're discussing. It's K51490. [12.0-18.0] There is an ESS and emergency support services reception center set up in Penticton. It was moved from Somerland. [18.0-26.0] You can find that reception center now at 550 Eckhart Avenue West in Penticton and that is in the Kings Park area. [26.0-34.0] That's the reception center if you need a place to go. If you'd like to register for emergency support services, you can go online if you're able to. [34.0-40.0] ESS.gov.bc.ca. I'm just going to set the phone down here. [40.0-48.0] Again, this is a very fast and evolving situation. This fire broke out, according to BC wildfire at approximately 5.30 pm. [48.0-56.0] It grew quickly and it's continuing to grow the latest information on the fire itself. You can find at BC wildfire.ca. [56.0-62.0] Now, because this is evolving so quickly, the RDS is working to get as much information out through Voient Alert. [62.0-68.0] That's the notification system. If you haven't signed up for it already, you can go to the RDS website. [68.0-78.0] You'll get notifications. It's very important, especially if you're not in the area. [78.0-88.0] I've got to stop and mention, if you feel threatened by this fire right now, you or your family, don't hesitate to call 911 but also leave the area. [88.0-96.0] Very important because it's an evolving situation. We've heard some stories of people trying to leave dark lake where there was fire near the road and that type of thing. [96.0-102.0] Personal safety is the most important thing right now. If this fire is near where you are, get what you need. [102.0-110.0] Make sure your family is safe, but you need to leave immediately. Also, keep in mind you'll need to date whatever you need for supplies. [110.0-116.0] Keep safe, those things. If you have time, if it comes down to your life, your family's life, you need to leave the area immediately. [116.0-124.0] There is a tactical evacuation underway and we heard a rescue were helping people get out of the way. [124.0-130.0] There were some people who were having challenges getting out of the way, so certainly all efforts are being made to help. [130.0-142.0] Again, if you feel threatened, you can help. You're worried. Call 911, but if you can, leave the area. Take your family, take your pets, take your neighbors, help them, help other people. [142.0-149.0] Again, with a fire like this, you just don't know what's going to happen. If it's threatening your home, you feel unsafe. You just need to leave the area. [149.0-161.0] Anyone who might be visiting needs to leave the area as well. This is not a good time for anybody to be going into the area of summer land where this fire is or the regional district, which is just northwest of summer land in the folder area. [161.0-166.0] Not a good time to go and start trying to take pictures or anything like that. [166.0-179.0] Official information will be coming in two main ways through the internet online, so BCWildfire.ca for the latest on the fire and from the RDSRDS.BC.ca. [193.0-205.0] Then there is an evacuation order that has been issued and an evacuation alert, and it is impacted by that. If your property is part of that order or part of the alert, you will receive a void alert notification. [205.0-220.0] The process is underway right now to get that out. Sometimes not as quick as we'd like it to be, but we did the RDSRDS spoke earlier with the province to get what's called an alert out. I can't remember the official name. It used to be called an intrusion alert. It's no longer called that. [220.0-224.0] Again, there's a lot of data coming in here, so I'll try to get as much out as I can.
