Smoke will start to drift into the southeast and continue that trend through Wednesday. The coming week the province will continue to see hotter temperatures and drier conditions except for the far northwest part of the province. Winds will continue to remain light in southern half of the province. As wildfire danger remains elevated in many areas, we recently implemented Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) prohibitions across the Kamloops, Southeast and Cariboo fire centres, as well as parts of the Coastal Fire Centre. These prohibitions help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during periods of extreme wildfire danger. If you see a wildfire, please report it to 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on a cellphone or through the BC Wildfire Service Mobile App and use the “Report a Fire” function, attaching a photo with your report. While crews continue responding to new wildfire starts and maintaining sustained action on existing incidents, everyone in B.C. has a role to play in preparedness.
