Captured at: 2026-09-03T13:49:17+00:00

## Bottom line
BC Wildfire Service published two Sept. 2 official updates useful for a Sept. 3 reader check:

- Coastal Fire Centre: Category 1 open-fire/campfire prohibitions are rescinded in all areas at noon PDT Thursday, September 3, 2026.
- Haida Gwaii Forest District: Category 2 and Category 3 prohibitions are also rescinded at noon PDT Thursday, September 3, 2026.
- The rest of the Coastal Fire Centre: Category 2 and Category 3 open fires remain prohibited, along with listed activities and equipment such as fireworks, binary exploding targets, burn barrels/cages, controlled air incinerators, air curtain burners and carbonizers.
- Sea Lion Mountain: BCWS says the area restriction for the Sea Lion Mountain wildfire area was rescinded effective noon PT Wednesday, September 2, 2026, because fire behaviour and activity decreased and crews no longer needed to restrict public access.

This package makes no arson, named-person, ignition-cause, evacuation-order, road-detour, return-home-clearance or final fire-boundary claim.
