## Bottom line

BC Wildfire Service published four related Aug. 27 prevention/restriction notices saying off-road vehicle prohibitions are rescinded effective noon Pacific time on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, for the Kamloops Fire Centre, Southeast Fire Centre, 100 Mile House Forest District and the Coastal Fire Centre partial ORV prohibition area. The same notices warn that wildfire risk can change quickly and that open-fire prohibitions/local restrictions remain in effect in multiple regions.
